Janco Electrical was formed as a close corporation in 2001 by sole owner, Jan Olivier, who qualified as an electrician in 1983. With experience already gained as a senior technician for the Post Office in the carrier and microwave apparatus room; Jan’s vision was to build up a company dedicated to providing expert electrical services to the Western Cape region. Janco Electrical has since earned a still steadily growing reputation for delivering quality electrical maintenance and installation work – all at competitive rates.

Memberships and Accreditation
You are assured of quality workmanship, as Janco Electrical is registered with the Electrical Contractors Board (ECB) and is also a member of the Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa. Furthermore, installation work is covered to R15 000 by ECA (SA)’s guarantee of works scheme.
Certificates of Compliance
Janco Electrical also issues Electrical Certificates of Compliance and it is extremely important that every homeowner understands the necessity of an Electrical Certificate of Compliance, or ECOC for short.
Since May 2009 it has become mandatory for homeowners to be in possession of a valid ECOC. This is to ensure that all electrical work and installations are up to the necessary standards as prescribed by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and therefore safe. There is also an important insurance dynamic here – as a homeowner is now required to provide their insurance company with an ECOC in the event of damage caused by an electrical fault. Failure to do so could result in the insurance company repudiating the claim.
